You Can Help
When people learn
about the cruelty associated with veal production they are appalled,
and most choose not to support this inhumane business. But, unfortunately,
many consumers are unaware of the cruelty of veal production. Please join the critical effort to educate consumers and others in your
area about the cruelty of veal production. Here are some ways you
can help:
Talk to Retailers:
- Contact restaurants in your area and encourage them to pledge not to serve cruel veal. Please click here to find out more.
- Contact Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. which has stores throughout the northeastern US Wegmans admits that their only veal supplier is Marcho Farms in Harleysville, PA – who raise created and tethered veal calves.
Educate the Public:
- Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper describing how veal calves are mistreated. Click here to see a sample Letter to the Editor.
- Place educational displays with pictures and literature in your library, school, church, grocery store or workplace. , No Veal campaign materials are available to download here or to order in higher quality here. You can also use our No Veal Activist Kit to organize an educational leafleting event outside local restaurants that serve veal.
Talk to Legislators:
- Contact your state legislators and urge them to introduce and strongly support legislation to end the use of crates for veal calves. Contact us for more information.
