Annual Mother's Day Anti-Veal Action

Every year on Mother's Day, a day for honoring the maternal bond, concerned citizens across the United States organize activities to raise awareness about the cruel fate of baby calves who are torn away from their mothers and exploited for veal production. These unfortunate animals are confined for their entire lives in crates so small that they cannot walk or even turn around, and they are fed a diet that is deficient in iron and designed to produce anemia and the pale-colored flesh sold as veal.

Please help bring an end to this intolerable cruelty, and join the Mother's Day effort. Here are some ways you can help::

Work with Farm Sanctuary to organize a demonstration in your area or join a nearby demonstration that is already planned. Contact campaign@farmsanctuary.org if you are interested in either. We will provide all the information and materials you need to make your outreach event successful!

Write a letter to the editors of your local newspapers explaining the cruelty involved in the production of veal. See a sample Letter to the Editor here.

Use our No Veal Activist Kit to organize an educational leafleting event outside local restaurants in keeping with the Mother's Day Veal Protest.

Display educational posters and literature in your local library, school, church, health food store, workplace, etc.

Encourage your family, friends, co-workers, and associates to avoid eating veal and ask them to sign the "Please Say No To Veal" petition.

Contact restaurants and encourage them to sign Farm Sanctuary's pledge not to serve veal.
